Tell us about yourself
My name is Ryan and I am a stay at home mom of a beautiful 2 year old daughter & and a proud US Marine Corps wife! We live in the beautiful beach town of Destin, Florida!
Your transformation is amazing . How long was it between your before and after pics?
My first photo was taken after having my daughter in 2012. It has been almost 2 years and 60 + lbs lost!!
What was your biggest inspiration to finally make a change in your life?
I started following Tone It Up back in 2010 when I was single and ready to get in better shape. I lost about 25 pounds, and then met my handsome husband. We got married, had a baby and over the following years let myself go. I got lazy and complacent and one morning I woke up and really looked at myself in the mirror. I was 264 lbs (my heaviest), depressed, dealing with anxiety and had completely lost myself. That same morning I got an email from Karena & Katrina and it helped me decide to change my life once and for all.
I jumped in head first, got the Tone It Up Nutrition Plan and finally got my life back!
What goals did you set for yourself in order to make a change?
The one goal I focused on was finding myself and my happiness again! Somewhere along the path of reaching my heaviest weight, I lost myself and who I really was. I wanted to start enjoying life again!
How did you keep yourself motivated to keep going?
It hasn’t always been easy, but I having an accountability partner (Alvey – a girl I met through a Tone It Up meet up!!) keeps me focused and on point. We talk every day!!! Another HUGE part of staying on track and motivated is this Tone It Up community! Whether I’m posting about successes or failures, the Tone It Up girls ALWAYS have kind and encouraging words for me!
I look back at old photos of me at my heaviest weight and photos of me now (at the half way point) and that reminds me that I AM WORTH it! I deserve to continue to push hard towards my goals. It is never too late to turn the day around!
How has following the Tone It Up Nutrition Plan contributed to your success?
The Tone It Up Nutrition Plan is my biggest secret weapon!!!! It is my every day go-to for recipes for me and my family as well!! My daughter is a smoothie queen and LOVES every one in the plan! I tell EVERYONE about the TIUNutrition Plan because it was the starting point for learning how to eat to fuel my body and what clean eating is all about!
What are you doing now to keep up with your healthy lifestyle?
Right now I’m doing the #100byHalloween challenge, prepping clean, healthy meals every week for myself, and training for my third 5K next month! In my house, we believe in the TIU way of life and we stay active EVERY DAY of the week!! We love heading to the beach to swim and run and play as much as possible!
How do you treat yourself while staying on track?
I love to treat myself with new, SMALLER clothes!!! Homemade Fro Yo or champagne are also yummy treats!!
What is your favorite Tone It Up workout?
Building a better booty is a huge goal of mine, so I LOVE the Malibooty work out! My second favorite, and my 2 year old’s fave is HIIT The Beach work out from the first Beach Babe DVD. We do it together all the time and she just adores jumping around with me!
What advice would you give someone who needs motivation and encouragement to get healthier?
You are WORTH being the healthiest, happiest version of yourself. You are strong enough and CAN reach your goals, no matter what!! Keep going and check out Tone It Up! Karena & Katrina teach you the basics, you will meet other girls who have similar goals and who can be there for you. You never have to do this alone!!
What are your current goals?
Now that I have lost about 60 lbs, my goal weight is 130. I have hit the half way point and have about 70 more lbs to go! Once I reach the place where my body feels it’s best, I will start to push towards physique goals like a super booty.
