Tell us about yourself :)

My name is Mary and 6 months ago I picked up my life, and moved from Toronto, Canada to Manhattan, NY to pursue my dreams of performing and to be with the love of my life. I went to school for Music Theatre and I’ve been on Broadway too!

How long was it between your before and after pics?

 It was 8 awesome BIKINI SERIES weeks between my photos.

What goals did you set for yourself in order to make a change?

I was a dancer straight out of the womb but I’ve never looked like the stereotype. I tried every diet out there and spend thousands and thousands of dollars trying to lose weight. My inadequacy was something I dwelled on constantly. My confidence was shot. That’s not an option in my profession; I have to be able to walk into a room of 200 other girls and know I am worthy. That’s what made me change and after 2 weeks on the BIKINI PROGRAM, I just felt so good. Taking care of my body made space for me to be my true self. So much of my inspiration came from the Community. I wake up, check and see what my #TIUgirls were up to. And of course, then I do my Bootycall – I had a morning date with K+K and I don’t stand anybody up.

How did you keep yourself motivated to keep going?

I thought of what I wanted to feel like at the end of 8 weeks and made simple, attainable goals. I wanted to drink more water, See the BIKINI SERIES through to the end, wear a crop-top in public and practice positive self-talk.

How has following the Tone It Up Nutrition Plan contributed to your success?

The Nutrition Plan is the #1 most impactful tool for me. It takes all the guesswork out of the equation while still providing countless options. When I saw the science of when and how to eat, I was hooked and as soon as I understood the principles, everything changed.

The BIKINI PROGRAM edition is my ultimate favorite; it was fool-proof. The Nutrition Plan makes me feel armed with knowledge.

What are you doing now to keep up with your healthy lifestyle?

I follow the weekly workouts when I’m not dancing and Perfect Fit Protein plays a big part in maintaining my lifestyle. My guy loves Tone It Up because it makes him try foods and spices he might not have tried before. Having someone on board with my lifestyle at home keeps me on track.

What is your favorite TIU workout?

I LOVE the Ultimate Bootycall on the Beach Babe 3 program. I’m all “This ain’t no big deal” and then 10 minutes later, I am dripping sweat. Honorable mention to Insane Cardio from Frisky Fall- that workout is not a joke!

What advice would you give someone who needs encouragement to get healthier?

Make small changes. It doesn’t have to be all at once. Drink more water this week, eat more veggies next week, get in your bootycall the next week, and so on. No matter what your goals are, it’s gonna take a minute, so hold yourself accountable and cut yourself some slack. Guilt doesn’t serve anyone. I love when K&K tell us to have a WHY. Knowing why you want to be healthy is such a great motivator. Your weight is not your worth.

What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself during this journey?

I was very surprised at how quickly I felt and saw significant changes in my body and mood once I started following the BIKINI PROGRAM. I also wasn’t sure I could stick it out. I’d tried so many other times and felt like I had failed. Getting to the end of 8 weeks was an accomplishment and it also became my lifestyle that I could maintain.
