We’re getting ready for a fabulous week and kicking it off with this amazing story from our girl, Micah! Keep reading to find out how this team member changed her life & body with just a few simple steps. She’s also sharing her Tone It Up Nutrition Plan review with us too!
Tell us about yourself!
My name is Micah, I’m a licensed cosmetologist and work at an awesome spa. I’m from hood river Oregon. I love being adventurous and taking advantage of the beautiful outdoors. My boyfriend and I will be moving into our first home together, and we are looking forward to new adventures together, living an active healthy lifestyle! We have a mini holland lop bunny named Daisy, who is super cute and loves to do the TIU workouts with me! Look for her at #tiubunny on Instagram! <3
Your transformation is amazing!
That before picture wasn’t me at my heaviest, unfortunately. I really didn’t like taking pictures during that point in my life. I was very self conscious and embarrassed to see a REAL before pic.
What was your biggest inspiration to finally make a change in your life?
After college I realized I hadn’t exercised in 2 years and was eating fast food for the majority of my meals. I didn’t feel like myself, I was uncomfortable in my own skin. When I started having back pain, my joints in my knees and ankles were killing me, I decided I really needed a change and get back to the old me again.
What goals did you set for yourself in order to make a change?
I started with small goals at first, eating home cooked meals and working out at least 4 times a week. The beginning was the biggest struggle because I was so unhealthy and out of shape. I just had to stay motivated and push through. Once I found Tone It Up it made life so much easier.
How did you find out about Tone It Up?
It’s a funny story. I was browsing Pinterest for workout ideas and motivation when I came across a shot of Katrina in the Malibooty video, and fell in love with her shorts! I clicked on it to find out where they came from and came upon ToneItUp.com! I signed up for the newsletter right away and instantly fell in love with the program!
How did you keep yourself motivated to keep going?
It was hard before I started Tone It Up. But now that I have met other team members near me, I begin each day by looking on Instagram (#TIUTeam) and see what all these amazing girls are accomplishing. Seeing what this team overcomes, dissolves any excuses and makes me want to push harder.
Did you have any setbacks along the way and how did you overcome them?
Yes! Eating healthy was my biggest struggle! I learned to treat myself along the way in nutritious ways, and even allow a cheat day every now and then. When I say I’m on a diet, or cut certain things out it makes me crave them even more, but something about the mentality of not restricting myself really helps a lot.
How has following the Tone It Up Nutrition Plan contributed to your success?
Without the nutrition plan I wouldn’t have reached the results I’ve gotten today. The information makes it so easy and simple to eat healthy while still enjoying delicious tasting food!! Also, realizing to eat more throughout the day instead of 3 big meals changed everything. The more I ate, the more weight I lost. Seems silly but it works! This system also allows you to never over eat in one meal, which is a plus!
What are you doing now to keep up with your healthy lifestyle?
All I have to do is follow the nutrition plan, follow the daily workouts on the Weekly Schedule, prepare for the week ahead every Sunday and everything is easy! It becomes a lifestyle and all these things become a habit.
What are some of your favorite healthy foods and snacks?
My all time favorites is Perfect Fit Protein pancakes and waffles! I’m not a huge fan of meat so making sure I’m getting enough protein is huge! Today for lunch I had a small bowl of Vegetarian chilli. YUM!
How do you treat yourself while staying on track?
I either give myself a mini cheat day or I cheat in healthy ways, like with fruit, or Greek yogurt. I love chocolate covered strawberries!
What’s your workout routine?
I follow the weekly Tone It Up workouts but sometimes do a little extra. I do weight lifting often, and if we’re doing abs, I do more ab videos or concentrate on that at the gym. I also incorporate yoga as often as I can. It helps me with everyday struggles, reminds me what I’m thankful for and helps to reset my mindset, to appreciate life and live everyday to its fullest.

HIIT The Beach 2 and Malibooty!
What advice would you give someone who needs motivation and encouragement to get healthier?
Stick with it! Getting past the hump is the hardest part, but if you keep going, things will start to click and it becomes habit! Also, if you need that extra push, follow motivating people on Instagram. I love to scroll through for a few minutes to instantly make me push harder :)
Tell us about your current goals? What are you looking forward to most?
Since I’ve reached my goal weight, I’m just trying to maintain and stay on track. I’ve been working on building more muscle lately. To incorporate more yoga and meditate as often as I can is also one of my biggest goals. It helps me mentally to make sure I find the bright side of every situation, not to take life too seriously, and to cherish every moment.
