Friday Featured Inspiration!!!! Grace :)

Today’s featured member of the Nutrition Plan is a Tone It Up family member, a friend of ours & an inspiration to all mothers!!  She has transformed not only her life, but her families and her future.  We met her here in California and she literally glowed with excitement and confidence.  Her skin, hair and smile is so beautiful!!!  A healthy lifestyle effects every aspect of your life~ and in this case she is a walking transformation.  She is proof that anyone can live the life they dreamed of.

I am the healthiest that I have ever been and do not feel deprived at all. And even though I am far from being an “athlete” I feel like one! I did 2 back to back half marathons- and had a great time on both.  I wouldn’t even have dreamed of doing a 5K last year. I recently saw a bunch of co-workers for the first time after summer break. Most of the feedback has been great, but there are a few offhanded comments like, “How much did you lose? You didn’t really need to lose that much” or “You look so skinny.” The only thing that bothers me is when people say, “What diet did you do? I don’t think you need to diet anymore.” So I launch into the whole, “No, this is not a diet. It’s a lifestyle” and then brag about Tone It Up and how it’s helped my family become healthier. Tone It Up has also shown me that I love to cook, I love to bake and love to share this lifestyle with others!

Vacations and special occasions are usually the major events that tempt me off my healthy eating, but as a “mom in moderation,” I think indulging once in a while is okay. I do try to limit my indulgences mostly to these special circumstances not because I’m obsessive compulsive (partly, maybe? lol), but mostly because my body feels so much better when I eat healthy. I can definitely feel a difference in my energy levels on days that I indulged a little too much.

I love how I can do lots of things and be on the go all day with this lifestyle. I also enjoy working out now. And I don’t spend hours working out because I just don’t have the time (right mommies?). That’s why I like HIIT workouts – fast, short, effective!

So what’s the purpose of this post? I guess it’s more to remind me that even if I might slack or fail at my healthy lifestyle from time to time, it’s okay because this is our lifestyle now. I can always do better next time – and I will do better because my body has taught me (and showed me because now I am “so skinny,” insert sarcasm) that this lifestyle of healthier living suits me and feels so much better. I’m much more productive as a mom, wife, therapist, family member, friend, and person.
