We perfected the healthy and delicious Tone It Up Gingersnap Cookie recipe!

They are organic and have tons of health benefits, you won’t want to put them down :)

One of Katrina’s personal favorite was her grandmother’s gingersnap cookies. Grandma’s secret?  Fresh, chopped ginger root inside the cookies. We put our own Tone It Up Twist on them. Make these mouth watering cookies for your family and we promise they will ask for seconds. They are not only full of taste, but nutrients too! :)

Healthy Gingersnap Cookie Recipe

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 packets Perfect Fit protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 2 teaspoons organic Stevia or 1 tbs raw sugar
  • 1 tbs fresh, chopped ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • Pinch of cloves
  • 1 tablespoon organic brown sugar

Wet

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons molasses

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix, then add wet ingredients. Spray cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Roll teaspoon size balls and flatten as much as you can onto a cookie sheet. (you may need to use flour on your hands or wooden spatula when flattening them)

Cook for 10-15 minutes or until crisp and brown. If you like softer cookies, flatten them less. Sprinkle with powdered Stevia. Enjoy :).This Healthy Gingersnap Cookie Recipe makes 16-24 cookies depending on size.healthy-gingersnap-cookies

Benefits of Ginger:

Ginger is a plant that originally came from southeast Asia. It can be found in many herbal remedies to help with disease and prevention of colon and ovarian cancer. It has high anti-inflammatory properties, which we could all benefit from. Ginger is also known as a natural painkiller for migraine relief, lessening menstrual cramps and helping with morning sickness for expecting mothers. Make sure you eat lots of ginger in the cold and flu season, because it can help you from catching a virus too!

A lot of you ask us about protein powder and most of us think of it as a ‘supplement’, or something that is loaded with chemicals. Brown rice protein is just like any other whole natural food, such as whole wheat flour or natural sugar, except that it is sprouted brown rice. It’s even great for kids!
